Our American Sentinel bandogs or our APBTs must pass a series of performance evaluations and hip screening before breeding. We perform these tests to make sure they have the traits needed to excel as protection dogs, guard dogs, or hog catch dogs. Our dogs must...
Form follows function, not the converse. Those who place structure (form) before ability (function) eventually always lose the working attributes required for function and health. We do all we can to ensure that our dogs are clear of any physical limitations that may impede recovery time post-work or that may impact the longevity of a dog's working career. We expect our breeding stock remain capable throughout their entire lives.
Dogs that have proved breed worthy are available for stud for a fee, which must be paid before the stud service is provided. Please note, no female will be bred to one of our males unless that female passes health screening for both babasia and brucellosis. Test results must include veterinarian contact information and must be done no more than one month prior to any natural breeding. These tests are not required when one is purchasing frozen semen.
ASC's Bumper is out of ASC's Justice x ASC's Halo and a younger brother to ASC's Scratch. Bumper is high drive, has great nerves, and loves to work. I am very pleased with him. He has been bred a few times and is a very good producer.
ASC' Cobalt is out of BulletProof's Frankie-Bomp of ASC and Midgard's Pele, who was loaned to our kennel in order to make this breeding take place. Cobalt is a very tough, yet affectionate dog that displays excellent drives, nerves, sound structure, high pain thresholds, and has produced very well for us.
ASC's Congo is out of ASC's Vicious x ASC's Halo. Vicious is out of Robinson's Lucky 7 x ASC's Onyx. Halo is out of Little Rascal x Valkyrie. Halo and Onyx have both been two of our top producing females, and with the additional APBT influence coming from both Lucky 7 and Little Rascal, we expect even more from Congo, as this puts his percentage of gamebred APBT at 70.375% while still having enough size to perform the tasks expected from the American Sentinel K9 (hog catch or protection work). We look forward to working him in the future.
ASC's Titus is out of ASC's Slam x Robinson's Banshee, making him an American Sentinel that has a whopping 90.25% gamebred APBT. Despite his high APBT influence, we still expect him to have good size and look forward to working him in the future.
ASC's Ranger is out of Frankie-Bomp x ASC's Valkyrie. Ranger is a high energy, high drive dog. We have bred Ranger a few times and have been very pleased with his offspring. We are looking forward to this dog's future at American Sentinel K9 .
ASC's Ranger has good hips.
ASC's Reptar defines what the American Sentinel program is about. He has so many good qualities that it is difficult to know where to begin. He is very stable and affectionate, excellent confidence, his drive seems endless, he is very powerful, his athleticism is outstanding, and has excellent endurance. He also has very good heat tolerance, or at least his drives are so strong that I haven't seen him yield even in hot weather. Additionally, his hip rating is excellent. Reptar has also demonstrated excellent potential as both a hog catch dog and as a protection dog. He is one of the finest dogs I have ever owned.
Reptar is currently 10 years old and is still very active and healthy. He is a very strong dog.
ASC's Scratch is out of ASC's Justice x ASC's Halo. Scratch defines what our program is about. His prey drive is phenomenal. His nerves are rock solid. His structure is great. His athleticism is exactly what one would hope for. This dog has already displayed the willingness to work at levels so strong that few dogs can compare. I like Scratch so much that I repeated the breeding that produced him two more times, and kept Bumper and Elsa out of those repeat breedings. This is the type of dog that one could base an entire line on...the type of dog that someone could spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to find and still not be able to. He will never be for sale. You may think you have seen a dog like him, but...nope, you haven't. This dog is as sweet as apple pie with the family, and an absolute beast when it comes to any challenging form of opposition. He is a "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" type of dog. If you don't know what that means, look it up.
