While the American Sentinel Canine Registry supports testing their dogs with protection work or legal hunting, we do NOT condone any illegal activities and certainly takes a strong position against dog fighting. Performance selection measures the quality of the dogs being tested. The American Sentinel Canine Registry (ASCR) only condones the use of humane measures of testing a dog's ability to sustain performance even in the face of stress by combining various testing measures of physical endurance (pre-exhaustion), mental endurance, and commitment to various threats as they can be applied in protection training scenarios for guard dog work or for catch dogs that are used to hunt dangerous game.
The ASCR chose to use the name American Sentinel to differentiate our program from the other “bandog” programs out there. This was done since the American Sentinel bandogs is proven to much higher standards than are the majority of "bandog programs" out there that lack strict performance selection requirements and have inconsistent breeding goals.
The guidelines of the ASCR are a composite of carefully written works comprised of decades of study. The ASC breed standard establishes guidelines of breed selection based upon the grounds of performance measures including physical athleticism, mental determination, and protective performance in a ASC Breed Suitability Test (BST). The guidelines within the ASC Standard place performance above all else, but there are also guidelines of breed foundation as well as desired anatomical preferences described within the ASC Breed Standard. The only way a dog can be registered with the ASCR as a "American Sentinel Canine" is to pass the performance and type guidelines written within the ASCR Breed Standard.
If you are interested in obtaining more information about the ASCR, feel free to email me at americansentinelk9@gmail.com. Breeders that register their dogs in the ASCR are expected to take no short cuts. They are expected to search for the best and model the breeding philosophies of the best. Combining this with the ASC Breed Suitability Test and an understanding of genetic principles, the ASCR hopes to continue the development of John's work, the performance bred American Sentinel Canines.

This uncle-niece combination is not only a tight line-breeding, it is also a combination of "best to best." Those who know me well know how much I like Scratch, ranking him up there with the best American Sentinel bandogs and other bandogs to have ever existed. Bumper and Scratch are both out of Justice x Halo. Venom is Scratch's daughter, out of Widow. Drive and toughness are second to none in these dogs, while still maintaining a high pack instinct and affectionate demeanor. As a result, we expect a great deal of consistency and excellent working ability from this combination. If you are looking for a high caliber working dog that is also worthy of being seed stock to build or improve a breeding program, this is a great breeding to consider. Males are likely to be 85-95# and females are likely to be 70-80#, plus or minus 5# (estimated).

The Slam x Elsa breeding will be the size, power, drive, and nerves of Slam to the exceptional legendary consistent performance of the Justice x Halo breeding that produced Scratch, Bumper, Agro, Elsa, Cowboy, Payne, and Severe Pain. Slam is out of Robinson's Lucky 7 x ASC's Patches.

Reptar earned a spot as our personal house dog and at 10 years of age we are hoping to do do a line breeding on him. He is extremely healthy and active still to this day, and has great drives and nerves. We bred Reptar to Ro binson’s Bocote, who is a purebred APBT with excellent working potential and complimentary traits that will supplement Reptar well. Bocote is out of Parker’s Frankie-Bomp of Robinson x Robinson’s Komodo. Komodo is an inbred daughter of Robinson’s Lucky 7 bred to his sister, Robinson’s Wonder-Girl. From this breeding we plan on keeping a special female. In order to preserve Reptar's blood for future generations, sometime in 2026 we hope to take that female, assuming she is worthy, back to Reptar before he is too old to breed, as he is an exceptional American Sentinel specimen...very healthy, active, driven, and stable.

Heavy Sorrells - We have changed our plans slightly. Instead of breeding Banshee with Jack-Knife, we decided to take her sister to him, to free up Banshee to be bred to Boomer. We decided to make this change in order to breed "like to like" in order to preserve not just the bloodlines, but also the phenotypes. Boomer is our largest male APBT and Banshee is tied with Miss Bandit as our largest female APBT, and both were sired by Frankie-Bomp. Additionally, both are very high drive, stable dogs that display an array of performance based traits that we desire from our APBTs.

Both Scratch and Onyx are sired by Justice, this breeding is double bred-Justice. We have done this breeding before (produced Ladysmith, Eastwood, and Bro, all of whom are very serious and tough dogs...great at manwork, but please note, this combination also tends to be very dog aggressive. This combination is not for the inexperienced handler or home. Owners need to be both competent and responsible. Dogs from this combination are expected to be 95-105#, with females expected to be 75-90#.

We bred Reptar to Kimura this year. Reptar is out of Wrecker x Tiggie. Kimura is out of Slam x Banshee. The pups out of this breeding will be 70% gamebred APBT, and given the traits of both parents I expect phenomenal drives, athleticism, confidence, solid nerves, agility, health, and size around 80-90# for males and 65-75# for females.
